Car seats expire. Kids outgrow them. Or a minor car accident requires them to be replaced. But what can you do with the remaining seats, besides piling them up in the rafters of your garage like I do?

Why, recycle them, of course, through the Recycling Association of Minnesota's new REseat program.

Collection events will be:

  • 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 29, at Inver Grove Ford, 4725 S. Robert Trail in Inver Grove Heights
  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 28 at the Andover public works facility at 397 Lowell St. in Andover
  • 9 a.m. to noon May 12 at AAA locations in Burnsville (600 W. Travelers Trail) and St. Louis Park (5400 Auto Club Way), and the Minnesota Safety Council at 474 Concordia Ave. in St. Paul.

    • There is a $10 charge per car seat.
