Target Corp. is recalling 264,000 bunny-shaped sippy cups, following reports that young children have been injured using them.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday, April 26, "The ear on the bunny sippy cup can poke a child in the eye area while using the cup for drinking, posing an injury hazard."
The commission added, "Target has received six reports of incidents where the plastic ear poked children during routine use of the product. Cuts and bruises were reported in three of these reports."
The recall involves two styles of Target Home Bunny Sippy Cups, one with blue handles, one with pink handles. The screw-on lid features a white bunny head with one bent ear and one straight ear. The cups have a serial number at the bottom, either 200020683 or 200020884.
Target had been selling the $3 cups nationwide between February and April 5. Consumers are advised to stop using the cups, and return them to Target for a full refund.
