Imagine Lake of the Isles as a handbag: cream crocodile leather, gold trim, striped lining, vintage jewel encrusted closure. Retail price: $220. It's one of several handbags inspired by Twin Cities landmarks and handcrafted by two local women who call their new line Rapport.
"We felt our hometown was a great place to start," says Michele Henry, who founded Rapport with Wesley Uthus.
Other points of inspiration for the first collection are the Weisman Museum, the Walker and Lake Street. The bags feature magnetized embellishments that are removable so you could also wear them on boots, jackets or scarves.
Rapport bags are available online at shoprapport.com.
