You can be sure this piece of jewelry is one of a kind: Little Canada jewelry designer Jake Fuhrman created a process to press fingerprints into silver or gold.

His First Impressions line offers pendants or charms that fit on chains. Prices range from $95 to $490. Fuhrman gets requests everywhere, from hospitals to funeral homes, as his imprints emerge as the perfect keepsake for lifecycle events from birth to death.

Furhman is setting up shop this weekend, June 4-6, at the Edina Art Fair (near U.S. Bank) so you can see the collection and capture your fingerprint (Furhman uses a digital reader to capture prints without ink). Receive a free silver chain — a $20 value — with orders placed at the fair. You can also order a printing kit, and jewelry, online at Jewelrythatmatters.com. Expect two to four weeks for manufacturing.
