The James Sewell Ballet stages excerpts from its regular season in a shortened program for families with children called First Chance Dance. Childish Films screens free films for kids ages 3 and up on the third Saturday of every month at the downtown Minneapolis Library. The films are chosen by Minneapolis moms Deb Girdwood and Isabelle Harder, who also select children's films for the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Film Festival. Tickets to the popular children's concerts performed by the Minnesota Orchestra are free and given away through random drawings twice a year. Registration for the spring concerts is December 10-17, 2008. If your name is selected, you'll get up to six free tickets. Register online at www.minnesotaorchestra.org.
