Your credit card could be a museum ticket. Bank of America and Merrill Lynch have added several Twin Cities museums to their national Museums on Us program that gives cardholders free access to cultural institutions on the first weekend of every month.
Show a Bank of America/Merrill Lynch credit or debit card along with a photo ID and get one free admission to the James J. Hill House and Minnesota History Center in St. Paul and Mill City Museum in Minneapolis. Special exhibitions are excluded. Fort Snelling will be free to cardholders on first weekends June through October.
The deal is good at more than 150 museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and Hammer Museum in Los Angeles (museums.bankofamerica.com).
If you don't have a Bank of America/Merrill Lynch card, you can still get a bargain. Show your library card at your local library to get free passes to 17 Twin Cities museums through the free Museum Adventure Pass program sponsored by Macy's.
