EXPLORE YOUR PARKS DAY
June 6: Washington County Parks offers another free family day for park visitors. Kick off the event in the morning at Lake Elmo Park Reserve with a 5K fun run/1K walk (registration begins at 10:30 a.m., run/walk at 11 a.m.). Other activities planned after the run include fishing, orienteering, archery, kite flying, geocaching, crafts, exhibits, music, nature programs and more. Activities also are planned at St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park and Big Marine Park Reserve. MINNESOTA STATE PARKS OPEN HOUSE/MINNESOTA HISTORICAL SOCIETY FREE DAY
June 7: Free history, free outdoors and free fun are yours when the Minnesota Historical Society and the state park system waive admission fees at 24 historical sites and more than 70 state parks and recreation areas. Check out the water lab at Mill City Museum, the new Greatest Generation exhibit at the Minnesota History Center or spend the day at Afton State Park along the St. Croix River.
