EVENT / STORY TIME

April 10: Minneapolis once supplied a quarter of the nation's flour. Learn how those early millers did it at the Mill City Museum story time. Museum staff will show how wheat goes from field to table with songs and books, such as "The Little Red Hen." Families can grind wheat into flour and taste freshly baked bread. ANIMALS / FARM BABIES AT MINNESOTA ZOO

Through April 30: A new crop of chicks, piglets, lambs, calves, goat kids, bunnies and ducklings have arrived at the Wells Fargo Family Farm, a cluster of bright red, fully-working farm buildings in the zoo's northwest corner. Through May: Staff at the Minnesota Children's Museum used up-to-date research to design an interactive exhibit where kids can explore two distinct climates — the land of fire and the land of ice.
